Weblogs in education ESL/EFL

Weblogs have been useful since its creation, and originally they served as a method of easy access to find links. As the years have passed, they have been used for different purposes. Among these is the academic environment, which has made ​​use of weblogs as due to them for a teacher can assign tasks that will then be reviewed by the blog. Also worth noting that contributed to the student's communication with the teacher. As weblogs had a specific purpose for a few years, these have been used in different ways to have more coverage among people who read blogs. The objectives of weblogs are sharing information through posts, videos, pictures, etc so other people who are interested in that information comment about what has been posted.

 

Among the instructional methods that can be used with a weblog I can mention: "Discussion" and "Tutorial". Discussion since this allows the feedback between the blogger and the person who reads the blog. And Tutorial, because through a blog it's possible to teach people, and if one is going to teach something, obviously we have to put the steps. When having a weblog you are able to upload the information that you find interesting. Not necessarily have to be related to the school, but if it were, that's good!

 

 

 

 

Glogster!

I enjoyed working on Glogster because there's so much fun! I could add whatever I wanted in order to make an online poster in which people are able to use images, videos, links to web pages and of course text to make it pretty. We used this tool to represent a scenario in which we mention at least two methods and the media that fits better according to the hypotetical situation we thought about. I really liked! 

 

Mindomo. Games&Discussion: Pros & Cons

The second activity we did was a Mind map using Mindomo. This application is really easy to use and it's interesting because it allows you to add pictures and arrows in order to create a mind map.
The content of the mind map was about the reading we did. We had to choose two methods of education and to explain which were the advantages and the limitations.

Prezi presentation Unit 1

This was the first performance we did for unit 1. We worked in pairs and we used Prezi because it was the tool that was shown first. The content of the presentation is based on the relationship between Learning theories, the Teaching perspectives and the Role of the media / technology of education. Each of these topics was broken so we could see what the relationship of each to each was.
